In-Home Newborn Pictures | Utah

If you’ve landed on this page, chances are you’re about to have a baby, yay! I would love to take your newborn pictures – whether you opt for an in-home, studio, or outdoor session.

What’s the Best Time to Take Newborn Pictures?

I usually suggest taking newborn pictures within the first 2 weeks of baby’s life. Here’s why:

  • During that time frame, baby is still pretty sleepy & it makes it easy to get those dreamy detail shots (closed eyelids, tiny toes, long skinny fingers).
  • Baby still looks like a newborn. Typically your little hasn’t started to fill out yet and is still delightfully full of the newborn qualities we love – looking at you, soft fuzzy heads!

But if the first 2 weeks don’t work for you – don’t worry! We can still capture the loveliness of your newborn for a few more weeks. Just reach out to me and we will figure out a time that works best!

Time of day will depend on where we’re shooting and what the light looks like. Let’s work closely together to figure it out!

Where is the Best Place to Have a Newborn Session?

A lot of my clients prefer to take newborn pictures in their homes which can be so cozy. But please, if you opt for this option, do not feel like you have to clean your whole house! I understand you just had a baby and I’m really good at scootching things over and making sure we have a nice clean shot for you.

If you want the in-home look but aren’t up for a session at your place, there are a lot of great studios that replicate the comfortable vibe of doing it at your house. But all you have to do is show up and smile.

Sometimes clients want to do their newborn session outside and we can definitely make that work! This can sometimes make getting all of the detail shots a little more difficult, but don’t worry – I’ve got you.

I would love to take your newborn pictures! If you’re interested in shooting with me, please reach out to me here or follow along with my work on Instagram.
