I am in love with how these gorgeous maternity photos turned out! This in-home maternity session is filled with dreamy light, the cutest expecting mama, and the sweetest couple ever!
The Chen family was the absolute sweetest! I felt so honored when they reached out to me about taking their maternity pictures at their home. It was so special to be in their space, witnessing their sweet relationship and capturing these final moments of just the 2 of them before they become Mom & Dad.
The best part, though, was coming back a few months later and taking their newborn’s pictures in the exact same space. You will absolutely SWOON over the Chen’s DARLING newborn session.
Taking maternity pictures at home is a great way to capture the excitement of soon-to-be parents and the love they share for each other and their little babe!
I love being able to document a couple’s home and life as it is before they welcome their new little person. It is so fun for me to provide these images that freeze memories during such a fun and anticipatory time.
And bonus! Because the Chens were in their home, they were able to do an outfit change during our scheduled time, giving them lots of options to choose from in their final images.
If you’re in Salt Lake County or Utah County, I would love to be your maternity and newborn photographer! If you’re interested in working together, please inquire through this form here or follow along with my work on Instagram.
Every year one of my favorite Spring family picture locations is the Cherry Blossoms at the Utah State Capitol! The beautiful pink blossoms are a gorgeous background for light and beautiful photos.
I have taken hundreds of pictures at the State Capitol during Cherry Blossom season. It has become a treasured annual tradition for me! But something so fun about this session was the significance for the cute Ott family. When they first got married, they lived right across the street from the Capitol in the little red house that you can see in the background of some of these photos. It was so fun to include a little piece of their family history in this session!
There are a few things you need to know if you’d like to have Cherry Blossoms in your family pictures this year.
The cherry blossoms typically bloom the first week of April for a week or so. But because they depend on warmer weather peeking through, they can come a little earlier or later. So while we book these sessions in advance, we may have to be flexible on dates if the blossoms decide to switch things up a little bit.
Secondly, the blossoms are here for a good time (not for a long time). This means I can only offer a limited amount of Cherry Blossom family picture sessions each year. If you are interested in having your picture taken here, follow along on my Instagram. I’ll post more information on dates and availability as we get closer to go time!
I can’t wait to take your Utah Capitol Cherry Blossom pictures! If you’re interested in working together, please inquire through this form here or follow along with my work on Instagram.
Can you even believe it is already time for Spring Family Pictures?? I am so freaking excited! The landscapes coming back to life, green popping back into existence, families clad in pretty pastels…it’s such a dreamy season to be a Utah family photographer.
Let’s talk about locations. While I may have idealized Spring a little bit in the first paragraph, Utah Springs can sometimes be a little…gray still. Which is why it is so important to choose a good location! I’ve scouted out the best Utah family picture locations that actually look good in early Spring. One of my very favorites is this remarkable little spot in American Fork. But don’t worry – I’ve got other options up my sleeve, including some goodies in Salt Lake County. Oh, and I of course offer family pictures at the State Capitol for the Cherry Blossoms, too. And if your schedule session ends up having a surprise snow storm? We can make that work or we can hop over to a darling studio – I’ll work with you.
If you’re based in Utah, I would love to take your family pictures this Spring! Please inquire through this form here or follow along with my work on Instagram.
If you’re looking for a location for your maternity pictures in Utah, let this be your sign to consider the Salt Flats! This dreamy Salt Flats Maternity session lives rent free in my head.
Let’s talk about what makes these maternity pictures so stunning.
The Salt Flats provide an absolutely stunning backdrop for your family pictures. The gorgeous natural light and silhouetted mountains are totally jaw dropping.
But the main reason I cannot stop thinking about this session is the darling family! They are seriously every maternity photographer’s dream come true! The joy they emanated during their whole family picture session was contagious. You can seriously see how excited they are to welcome their new little one in every single shot. Let me tell you – their baby is already SO loved and SO lucky to be joining the crew.
I recommend taking Maternity Pictures between 7-8.5 months of pregnancy. This allows us to capture the expecting mama glow before baby makes their debut.
The most important thing is to find something that you feel confident and comfortable in! Beyond that, I offer personalized wardrobe consultations for my clients who are interested. With my experience, I believe we can find the perfect outfit.

These snowy American Fork Canyon maternity pictures are some of my absolute favorites! With the gorgeous pines and snow flurries at Tibble Fork, it truly felt like we were taking pictures in a dreamy winter wonderland.
I love being a maternity photographer! It is such an honor to be able to capture the magic and excitement that comes with pregnancy! The Greenley family is looking forward to welcoming their first baby and I loved celebrating this time with them.
We were originally planning on taking their maternity pictures in American Fork, but the rain was coming down so hard in the valley. We decided to take our chances up the mountain instead. And can I just say I’m obsessed with how this snowy maternity session near Tibble Fork turned out! Tara was such a trooper with the snow and looked absolutely incredible.
If you’re planning on having maternity photography done in a cold climate, here’s my pro tip! Wear a long dress and put on your warmest snow boots. We’ll be sure to pose and take the pictures quickly, giving you lots of coat breaks to keep you warm.

This family picture location in Little Cottonwood Canyon is one of my very favorite spots. Beautifully green during the Summer months and stunning yellow in Fall, it’s the most striking backdrop no matter your preferences.
From July to September, this family picture location in Little Cottonwood Canyon is so gorgeous and green! Surrounded by Quaking Aspens, this grove filters light beautifully and provides a stunning backdrop for your family pictures.
While most Summer pictures have to be taken later in the day to take advantage of sunset lighting, golden hour hits earlier in this shaded grove. This means you can begin your session up to 3 hours before sunset – capturing pictures with dreamy lighting AND still making it home before your littles’ bedtimes.
During your session, I will always capture posed and lifestyle shots of your family together, individuals, couples and children grouped together. My goal is always to shoot images that display the natural and loving way you interact with each other in frame-worthy ways.

In traditional Chinese culture, reaching 100 days of life is believed to be a significant milestone for a newborn as it shows that the baby has survived the early months of life. The Chen family decided to celebrate their baby’s 100 day milestone with a precious newborn session.
Give me all of the babies!! One of my very favorite session types is a newborn photography session of any type. I am always so honored when you trust me to capture this fleeting time in your life – the tiny smiles, rolls, fuzzy head and absolute euphoria of adding a new little member to your family.
If you’ve been following along with my work, you know that I do a lot of sessions in the beautiful outdoors and staged studios. However, I also offer in-home sessions! There is something so special about being invited into your home to capture special images of your life as it is right now. I love being able to shoot images in your special places. The places you’re most comfortable and able to interact with your loved ones. I”ll never take it for granted that you allow me to share your beautiful lives in this way.

Family pictures at Saltair always turn out timeless and classy! With the perfect neutral colors, this stunning location features a mountain backdrop, endless skies and a gorgeous sandy foreground.
When I started editing these photos, they took my breath away! The Ward family is absolutely DARLING and such a joy to capture. This is the second time I’ve had the pleasure of taking their family pictures at Saltair and I do not blame them for choosing to come back after adding their 4th baby!
Saltair is beautiful year round, but I recommend scheduling your family pictures anytime from early spring through fall. It gets so cold & miserable during the winter (but still looks fantastic!)
No matter what time of year you schedule your pictures at Saltair, make sure to bring bug spray to your session! This is helpful because once the sun sets, bugs come out in full force.
I can make any color scheme work at Saltair because it is such a neutral background. However, the images that end up looking the best at this location feature a more neutral palate. Blacks, tans, beiges, creams, greens, blues, whites all look fantastic. The color scheme the Ward family (pictured here) chose, is one of my very favorites for Saltair!
I just wanted to add a quick plug here for Lifestyle photography. I ADORE taking family pictures because I love capturing the natural interactions between parents & children, spouses, and siblings. I had a blast capturing the fun & loving relationships Hayley and Harrison share with each other and their children. When you allow time for play during a family picture session, you end up with happier kiddos and images that showcase personality, fun, and love.

Here’s your sign to add Salt Lake Cherry Blossom Pictures to your family picture bucket list. Full of light, airy, whimsical pastels, it is the perfect location for Spring photos.
Not only have I been photographing the Weeks Family for years, they are close personal friends of mine. Being a family photographer gives me so much joy and the privilege of capturing some of my best friends is the best feeling!
I don’t often share how deeply I love what I do – photography fills a creative part of my soul and is a very vulnerable part of me. When a friend or family trusts me to capture them, it is the greatest, treasured compliment.
Every spring I offer mini sessions at the Utah State Capitol. The cherry blossoms provide the prettiest soft pink/white backdrop for the lightest Spring family pictures. The cherry blossoms typically peak around the second week of April and last about two weeks!
I follow the blossom prediction calendar super closely to ensure we catch the peak (it’s part of my job as a Salt Lake County photographer haha). If you’re interested in a cherry blossom family picture session, follow me on Instagram for updates on session times and availability.

This is absolutely one of my favorite locations for Spring Family pictures in Utah! Herriman Hills boasts the ideal combination of greens and beiges, the perfect backdrop for stunning shots of your family.
This Salt Lake County Family Picture Session with the Smith Family was absolutely dreamy! They wanted a location that was subtle yet dynamic at the same time, and the texture of grasses, brush and the hills in the background absolutely delivered.
If you’re eyeing the Herriman Hills location for your next family picture session, be aware that it is only green in the early spring (typically April and early May), but the gorgeous beiges remain throughout the year.
During our time together, you can expect a few things from me as a Lifestyle Family Photographer. I OF COURSE always get the standard, posed family pictures. But I also encourage families to interact with each other naturally & play while I’m snapping pictures. The Smith family did this so well, allowing me to capture the sweetest moments and happiest smiles from everyone.
