The Ward Family Pictures at Saltair
When I started editing these photos, they took my breath away! The Ward family is absolutely DARLING and such a joy to capture. This is the second time I’ve had the pleasure of taking their family pictures at Saltair and I do not blame them for choosing to come back after adding their 4th baby!
What You Need to Know About Pictures at Saltair
Saltair is beautiful year round, but I recommend scheduling your family pictures anytime from early spring through fall. It gets so cold & miserable during the winter (but still looks fantastic!)
No matter what time of year you schedule your pictures at Saltair, make sure to bring bug spray to your session! This is helpful because once the sun sets, bugs come out in full force.
I can make any color scheme work at Saltair because it is such a neutral background. However, the images that end up looking the best at this location feature a more neutral palate. Blacks, tans, beiges, creams, greens, blues, whites all look fantastic. The color scheme the Ward family (pictured here) chose, is one of my very favorites for Saltair!

I just wanted to add a quick plug here for Lifestyle photography. I ADORE taking family pictures because I love capturing the natural interactions between parents & children, spouses, and siblings. I had a blast capturing the fun & loving relationships Hayley and Harrison share with each other and their children. Couples Photo Shoot at Saltair
I love capturing families at every stage! So when my brother asked me to take pictures of him and my new sister-in-law, I immediately said yes! It was SO much fun to capture their excitement and love. So couples, here’s your reminder: you don’t need to have kids to take family pictures! Book a couples photo shoot – I promise you won’t regret capturing this moment in your little family.
Thankfully my brother let me talk him into shooting at Saltair and HOLY SMOKES it showed off! A vast expanse of white met a GORGEOUS sunset to create a seriously ethereal setting for their couples pictures.

Earlier this summer, one of my clients reached out and asked if she could book a Saltair family picture session for her friend. Her friend had recently recieved a heartbreaking diagnosis and she wanted to give them the gift of family pictures, to capture their family as it is right now.
Giving family pictures is truly one of the most thoughtful things I’ve ever heard of.
We settled on doing a Saltair family picture session. And wow, did Saltair really show off! It was such a gorgeous night and a beautiful honor to capture these moments. I loved working with this family and helping them freeze their relationships through my lens. Spending time with this precious trio as they face something so hard was such a beautiful privilege. And can you even handle baby girl and her curls and chunky thighs?
I am always so grateful every time you trust me to capture your family, but wow, this session of family pictures at Saltair reminded me why family photos – why family – is so important. Thank you for letting me get to know you. Thank you for including me in your lives. And thank you for letting me watch your family and your love grow. It’s not something I take forgranted.
