Fall family pictures may be in full swing, but I’m still dreaming about all of the gorgeous Summer family pictures I took. Like, are we kidding?! These pictures from Big Springs are serious family picture goals.

Being a Utah photographer has serious perks.

  1. You get to shoot in seriously jaw-dropping locations like Big Springs. The green? The mountains? It is seriously the perfect backdrop for your family.
  2. You get to work with the absolute freaking cutest families out there.

Working with this family was such a dream (maybe one of my favorite shoots to date?). The way they interacted with each other was just so fun! I mean, just LOOK at these cute sibling shots. Oh, and the shots of mom + dad. Gah, they’re all so good, right?!?!

What to wear for Summer Family Pictures

And on top of that, I love what they wore. If you’re looking for inspiration on what to wear for your Summer family pictures in Utah, take another look at their choices! I love that they stuck with muted colors that worked with their green background, rather than clashing or blending into it!  When choosing your summer family picture outfits, choose something that will stand out from your location but won’t look out of place. I recommend blues, pinks, whites, and light oranges for a pretty green background like this!

Baptism Mini Shoot | Mount Timpanogas Temple

Oh, it’s great to be Eight! In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, when someone turns eight they have the opportunity to choose if they would like to be baptized and confirmed as a member. This involves making special covenants with God, being washed spiritually clean, and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost to always be with them. The decision to be baptized is so special and deserves to be remembered and celebrated!

I absolutely loved being able to capture Reagan’s excitement for her upcoming baptism in this mini shoot at the Mount Timpanogas Temple! It was so special to focus solely on her and get photos that capture her sweet 8-year-old personality. Isn’t she just the freaking cutest?!

Because this was so fun, I am now offering Baptism Mini Sessions once a quarter. I  will rotate which temple the shoot will be at each time. So if there is a location you’d like to see, let me know! These sessions will be short & sweet, lasting 20 minutes and will cost $225. The images from these sessions are perfect for so many things. Some clients have used them for memory books, Baptism invitations/programs, celebration decor and even individual portraits for your wall. I cannot wait to work with you and your kiddos!

Our first shoot will be April 25th at the Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple. If you’re interested in joining us, please contact me to schedule your Mini Baptism Temple Session!  To see more of my work, follow along on Instagram.

Mothers day is just around the corner! It snuck up so fast this year, and has taken on such new meaning for me as I have recently become a mother. So naturally I could not wait to do this years Mommy and Me Minis!

I had the opportunity to hangout with Melissa and her sweet Lila girl.

These two are absolutely stunning! The pregnancy glow turned into a perfect “mama glow” for this sweet mama. Lila is a doll. I mean, I cannot get over her bright eyes and her little bonnet – can you?

We met up in one of my favorite spots; Carbon Canyon Regional Park. I love meeting mamas who are in the same boat as I am! Something about being able to connect on a the same level when your babies are about the same age and going through the same stages, especially when we chat about Moana and how it calms our babes instantly.

I sure hope Melissa has the most perfect Mothers Day, she definitely deserves it.

Who hasn’t dreamed of the PERFECT beach session? Or is that just me?

I am sure when you have dreamt of this beautiful session, you did not think or want to wake up in the wee hours of the morning. Most of us are not morning people and certainly not sunrise people! I am far from a morning person, never have and probably never will be. You’re probably thinking “yeah right, I am not going to get my whole family ready at an hour that shouldn’t even exist”. Well, I am here to tell you it is worth it. 100%. Okay, maybe 98% because you still had to get up early!

But here  are a few reasons why you will NOT regret it booking a sunrise session:

1. The lighting is simply dreamy in the morning.

Blues are bluer and whites are whiter. Everything is soft and perfect. I don’t believe I have ever met someone who did not enjoy watching a sunrise. During this time the ocean will be more turquoise and have more detail.

2. Your kids will be happier in the morning.

Who doesn’t stress about how their children will behave, smile and look in family pictures? Well let’s try to ease that worry because your children will be happier in the morning. They are typically more awake, more cheerful and less likely to be distracted.

3. Fewer people/things in the background

There obviously are those morning runners and surfers, but the crowds, sun bathers, tents, towels and umbrellas will be few are far between. You’ll get to enjoy and run around the beach with your sweet family and not have to worry about running into others.

4. You get to get it over with early!

Each time my family has pictures taken, I stress ALL day. The anticipation is killer. Will my hair still look good, will the kids still be clean, will everyone be in a good mood, will we be on time, will “so and so” need a nap…. The list goes on and on. The day becomes a waist of a day for me because everything revolves around that photo session.

When you do a morning session – there is the stress of getting up on time, and getting everyone ready. But once you are all there, you enjoy the session and leave – the day is still YOURS! You can go home and take naps, and do whatever you please.

Here are a few images from my favorite sunrise session to date!
